It has been indicated that Napoli star Edinson Cavani is in talks with Manchester City as well as Real Madrid over a summer move according to the striker’s mother.
The striker who has so far notched up 102 goals in 124 matches during his time in Naples, looks likely to leave the Serie A club
Cavani recently admitted that he would love to have a chance to work with the City manager-to-be Pellegrini. There has been much speculation of a player-plus-cash deal involving Edin Dzeko has stalled.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have also shown their interest in Cavani with a player-plus-cash deal of their own involving Fernando Torres but Cavani’s mother Berta Gomez claims City and the La Liga giants are currently in the front running for her son’s signature.
In a radio interview in Montevideo, Uruguay, Gomez said “ Edi is talking to Madrid and City”
City are understood to have agreed a £150,000-a-week deal with Cavani as the new Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is green-lighting a potential part-exchange with Dzeko.
However, the Napoli President Aurelio De Laurenti has already made it clear that Edinson Cavani would only be allowed to leave Naples if City trigger his release clause of £53m.
