The Red Devils have emerged as favourites to capture the signing of Barcelona’s Spanish wonderkid Thiago Alcantara. The new Red Devils boss David Moyes has been a long-term admirer of the starlet and yet knew he was out of reach at his former club Everton.
Manchester United have been monitoring Alcantara for the past three years. They could now setup an irresistible offer for a player who has been frustrated by a lack of first team football. According to various sources, United are willing to offer Barca £15million in a bid to see off their arch rivals Manchester City.
Thiago proved his potential by bagging an excellent first half hat-trick against Italy in Spain’s 4-2 triumph to win the European U-21 Championships last night.
The Spanish U-21’s skipper headed a sixth-minute opener, blasted home a 31st-minute second and slotted a 38th-minute penalty in Israel.
