Hull City's bid to sign Charlie Austin rejected

22 June 2013 - 14:03

Burnley forward Charlie Austin is a target for Steve Bruce's side Hull City, however their initial offer of £4 million has been rejected. Austin scored 28 goals in the Championship last year.

  • Chelsea to make renewed offer for Senegal star?
  • Confirmed Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Man City, Sesko left out
  • That kind of form has attracted Bruce to Austin and he has enquired about the player's availability. Hull City are eager to bolster their squad in time for their return to the Premier League.

A Burnley statement read: “There have been reports from various media sources saying that Burnley FC are close to striking a deal for striker Charlie Austin. These reports are wide of the mark.

“Quite understandably there have been enquiries from a number of clubs but none have met Burnley’s valuation of the player. Charlie Austin remains part of the squad of Burnley as we prepare for next season’s matches.
