Chelsea have finally completed the signing of Germany international Andre Schurrle. The player joins Bayer Leverkusen and becomes Jose Mourinho's first signing of his second tenure as Blues boss.

 • Chelsea defender on his way to Leeds United?
 • Chelsea ready to hand Nicolas Jackson fresh chance
 • Schurrle put pen to paper on a five year contract at Stamford Bridge and will wear the #14 shirt. After signing the deal, Schurrle said: “I am so happy now I have signed and it is an honour for me to play for this club, with this team and for these great fans. I am really looking forward to it.”
There had been some concern that a deal could not be reached between Leverkusen and Chelsea, but after some last minute negotiations with sporting director at Leverkusen, Rudi Voller, terms were finally agreed.
Schurrle has had an impressive few season at Leverkusen, the side that he joined from Mainz 05. The player scored 11 goals in 34 games in the Bundesliga last year, and also 2 goals in 6 games in the Champions League.
