Pablo Osvaldo Snubs Southampton

28 June 2013 - 18:23

According to Goal reports, Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo has turned down a €20 million move to Southampton.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip

  • It is understood that the Premier League club was willing to pay a club-record fee along with add-ons for the Italy international in order to lure him to St Mary’s stadium. Southampton were reportedly prepared to spend 20million pounds for the 27-year-old.

But as it has been suggested by media reports, Osvaldo has snubbed the interest from the Saints as he looks to move to a higher profile club.

Serie A club, Roma, are looking to sell the striker to help provide funds for new coach Rudy Garcia to renovate his squad.

Osvaldo also attracted the attention of Tottenham, who had earlier held talks with his representatives but have now dropped interest in him as they look to close deal with Spain’s David Villa. Atletico Madrid have also made enquiries about the striker but now they have also been reported to have opened talks with Sevilla for Alvaro Negredo.
