Man Utd star Evra to Monaco?

Man Utd star Evra to Monaco?

29 June 2013 - 05:30

Patrice Evra is reportedly prepared for a return to his former club Monaco, if Manchester United sign Leighton Baines. The French international has already told his representatives that he is ready to leave Man Utd.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • According to The Sun, Moyes’ £12m bid for his former left-back failed, following which he may place another bid which is expected to be around £16 million. It is understood that the second bid might just be enough to lure the 28-year-old from Goodison.

Baines’ move to the Old Trafford also puts in doubt Patrice Evra’s future at the club, who will most likely be pushed behind the English international.

Evra has long been linked with a move to the French clubs Monaco or Paris Saint-Germain. It has also been reported that if United bring in Leighton, the defender is set to leave his present club for Monaco, from where he made a move to Manchester United in 2006 in a £5.5m deal.

For now Evra considers himself a United player but he wants to keep his options open, should United succeed in acquiring Baines. Baines, who looks to secure a spot in the English squad ahead of the next World Cup, will most likely push for his transfer at the Old Trafford, considering the Champions League exposure.
