Arsenal misfit Bendtner unlikely to join Frankfurt

04 July 2013 - 15:20

Arsenal and Denmark international striker Nicklas Bendtner is unlikely to complete a move to Eintracht Frankfurt, because of the player's lofty salary demands. It is understood that Bendtner has asked for a reported 85,000 Euros a week to join the German club.

  • At Arsenal, Bendtner has struggled to displace the likes of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski in the Gunners first team. Since last year, he spent the majority of the season on loan at Juventus, there appears to still be no possibility of him pushing for a first team place this season.

However, a move to Germany could still be likely. Whilst Frankfurt are not able to afford his huge salary, Werder Bremen have recently been linked with a move for the player who has spent time on loan at Sunderland in recent seasons. Werder would like to sign Bendtner on loan until January 2014, whilst paying his full salary.
