John Ruddy nears Chelsea move

06 July 2013 - 06:22

Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy will complete a move to Chelsea next week. Finishing touches are being put on a £5 million deal.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Canaries' goalkeeper is being brought to Stamford Bridge as understudy to current number 1 Petr Cech.

Norwich manager Chris Hughton had hoped to keep Ruddy at the club, but the England international keeper Ruddy informed his boss on Thursday that he would like to move to London as soon as possible.

£5 million is the figure that Norwich reportedly quoted Jose Mourinho's side, and that fee has been verbally agreed yesterday.

Ruddy should therefore complete a move to Chelsea mid next week if personal terms are agreed.
