07 July 2013 - 16:53

Media reports have linked Hull City with a move for Burnley striker Charlie Austin. Sky Sports reports that the former Swindon forward is one of the top targets for the Hull boss, Steve Bruce, who looks to strengthen his squad for the coming season.

  • The 24-year-old striker has only a year left on his contract at Burnley and it is believed that the clubs are close to agreeing on a deal for the player.

Austin has netted 45 goals for Burnley ever since he joined the club in 2011 from Swindon and he also managed to score 28 times for the Clarets last season.

Hull boss, Steve Bruce, is intent on revamping his squad ahead of the next season, following Hull’s promotion to the top flight. His bid for Celtic striker Gary Hooper has already been rejected.

Bruce has although managed to sign Maynor Figueroa, Curtis Davies and Allan McGregor. Also, other players like Luke Moore, Peter Odemwingie and Katlego Mphela have been linked with moves to the KC Stadium.
