Manchester City to activate Stevan Jovetics release clause

Manchester City to activate Stevan Jovetic's release clause

09 July 2013 - 14:33

Since the end of last season, Stevan Jovetic has been linked with a move to the Premier League. As per reports, Manchester City have turned their attentions to Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic in their search for a new striker.

The Manchester club were in the hunt for the signing Napoli striker Edinson Cavani but were not willing to match his asking price, and now have turned their sights to Jovetic, who announced last month that he plans to leave Fiorentina in the summer.

The striker indicated that he wants to leave Florence in search of a club which would guarantee the Montenegrin International silverware every year as well as Champions League football.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • City look to be favourites for the moment in the race to sign Jovetic for a fee of £27m , which would activate the Montenegrin’s buy-out clause.

The Citizens will have competition for the striker elsewhere as well, with Arsenal and Chelsea also interested in offering the striker a move to the Premier League.
