Southampton track Belgian youngster Nill de Pauw

14 July 2013 - 06:12

Southampton have made an offer -believed to be in the region of 2 million Euros - for Lokeren striker Nill de Pauw. The 23-year-old has spent his entire career with the Belgian club and his current contract will expire next year.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The Saints have already secured the signings of Victor Wanyama and Dejan Lovren this summer, but want to bring in at least two more players and De Pauw will be their first major attacking signing. Rickie Lambert is the first choice striker at St Mary's, but De Pauw will be brought in as backup for the forward.

De Pauw is a powerful forward who enjoys playing just off of a main striker and likes to link play between the midfielders and attack. Since his promotion to Lokeren's first team, he went on to play for Belgium's under-21 side and has even been linked with a call up to the full national team.
