15 July 2013 - 04:44

Leighton Baines is on the verge of signing a new contract with Everton. The Toffees' left back has been linked with a move to Man Utd all summer, but it is understood that the England international will put pen to paper on a three year contract extension.

  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • According to reports, Man Utd will not budge on their £12 million offer for the left back, with Everton seemingly asking for closer to £18 million for the defender. It is also uncertain whether or not Patrice Evra will be allowed to leave Old Trafford.<br />

After some productive talks between Baines' agent and new Everton manager Roberto Martinez, there has been some progress and it is understood that the defender will sign a new contract within the next 7 days.
