Manchester City have continued their summer spending spree after finally completing a deal to sign Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo for a reported £20.6m. The 27-year-old has signed a four year contract.
The deal, which is worth an initial £16.4m for the player and then a further £4-5 million in clauses, is City's 3rd major coup this summer having signed Fernandinho from Shakhtar Donetsk and Jesus Navas from Negredo's old club Sevilla.
Negredo has been brought in by new manager Manuel Pellegrini to replace Carlos Tevez, who joined Italian champions Juventus last month.
The forward passed a medical on Thursday afternoon and will link up with his new team mates next week.
