Andre Santos swaps Arsenal for Flamengo

Brazilian defender Andre Santos has agreed a transfer to Brazilian side Flamengo, signing a two year contract. The defender has reportedly been released by Arsenal and was free to sign a deal with any club as a free agent.

Andre Santos struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League since his arrival from Fenerbahce back in 2011, and the defender was berated for swapping shirts with former club captain Robin van Persie last season.<br />

Since then, and a loan move to Gremio later, the player has been told he is surplus to requirements at Arsenal and allowed to leave the Emirates.
