Guus Hiddink linked with Barcelona job

22 July 2013 - 17:23

Guus Hiddink has resigned as manager of Russian side Anzhi and has now been linked with the vacant Barcelona job. Tito Vilanova stepped down this week at the Nou Camp and it appears that Dutchman Hiddink is the latest to have been linked with the coveted Barca job.

  • Tito Vilanova stood down this week as he takes time to focus on recovering from his throat illness; that leaves the Spanish champions currently without a manager and several names have been linked with the role, including Newell's Old Boys' coach Gerardo Martino whilst club legend Luis Enrique is also linked with the role.

Hiddink would certainly be the favourite of the fans to take the role as he comes with much experience at the top level and is reportedly desperate to have one last crack at the Champions League with a major European side.

Hiddink today stepped down from his role as Anzhi's manager thus leading to speculation that he would soon take on the Barcelona role.
