Liverpool turn down Arsenal's Suarez bid

24 July 2013 - 15:38

Liverpool have reportedly rejected Arsenal's latest bid for their Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.

 • Calum McFarlane confims double Chelsea injury boost
 • Chelsea set asking price for Nicolas Jackson
 • The North London club had made a fresh offer for the striker in excess of £40 million but the Merseysiders have turned it down clearly showing their intent to hold on to the South American.
Arsenal's latest offer had triggered a clause in Suarez's contract whereby the club are bound to consider the offer but eventually decided on rejecting it.
The wantaway striker's hopes of leaving Anfield this summer has been dealt another blow as Liverpool seem desperate to hold on to him until their valuation of the player isn't met.
Earlier, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers had stated that the club will only be willing to listen to offers if they meet their expectations. It remains to be seen if Arsenal come back with another offer for the talented Liverpool front man.
