Wolfsburg enquire about Luiz Gustavo

27 July 2013 - 13:13

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are planning to make a swoop for out of favor Bayern midfielder Luiz Gustavo this summer.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Bayern Munich new manager Pep Guardiola is believed to favor Javi Martinez ahead of the Brazilian therefore limiting Gustavo's first team opportunities the coming season.

Gustavo is yet to feature in any pre season games under Guardiola prompting Wolves to make an attempt to lure him away from the Allianz Arena.

Klaus Allofs, Wolfsburg director told The Bild: "We've made contact and expressed our interest.

"We want to do things correctly. There are still some obstacles to overcome, however."

The 26 year old still has two years remaining on his current contract but Wolves are ready to meet the club's valuation to shore up their midfield as they aim to qualify for European competition next season.
