Pellegrini confirms Dzeko going nowhere

27 July 2013 - 17:01

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that he has complete faith in striker Edin Dzeko and that the Bosnian international will stay at Eastlands for the coming season.

  • There has been interest in the 27 year old striker from Italy and Spain but the new City boss has rubbished all claims of Dzeko's rumored exit from the club this summer.

Pellegrini said, "Everyone was talking before I arrived that we will bring in Cavani, Lewandowski, all those players. But I always trusted in Edin Dzeko and he is now playing the way I want."

Dzeko has been in fine form for City in the pre season as he once again fired his side to a 1-0 victory over Sunderland in the final of Asia trophy.

The City number 10 joined the English club in 2011 from Wolfsburg and has gone on to score 30 goals in 76 appearances.
