Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is exploring his transfer options after central defender Matija Nastasic sustained a nasty looking injury during a pre-season game in Hong Kong yesterday. Davide Astori is believed to be top target for the Citizens.
The Cagliari defender has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League and the highly rated 26-year-old has also hinted that he would be interested in a move to England should the opportunity present itself.
Pellegrini is concerned that he has no backup in his defensive ranks should he lose more of his defenders to injury, particularly should club captain Vincent Kompany miss games this coming season.
According to reports from Italy, City are ready to table a bid of 10 million Euros to Cagliari for Astori.
