Casillas voices support to Real's Bale chase

30 July 2013 - 11:47

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has backed his team's chase for Tottenham Hotspurs winger Gareth Bale.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Reports have emerged in the Spanish media that Florentino Perez is likely to offer a world record fee for the Welshman after having declared Bale to be his top transfer target this summer.

Daniel Levy is known for his shrewd business and is reportedly holding out for a whopping £126 million for the Premier League Player of the season.

Casillas admitted that there has been plenty of controvery surrounding the purported transfer of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid but hailed him as one of the best players in the world.

"We are talking about one of the top three or four best players in Europe and it's normal that his name is being discussed because he has all the qualities a footballer needs." Casillas said.

"Every transfer is controversial in its own way, for better or worse, but we are speaking about a very good, decisive player," he added.

"I'm sure we'll make another signing before the transfer window shuts."
