Man City enter race for Gareth Bale

Manchester City are the latest team to have been linked with a move for Wales international winger Gareth Bale. The Tottenham star has also been approached by Spanish side Real Madrid, but City are the latest team to enter the race.

It is understood that whilst Spurs are not willing to sell the player, the Citizens are ready to test their resolve and will make a world record bid to sign the left winger.<br />

The former Southampton player has been courted by some of Europe's biggest clubs but has also suggested he would prefer to remain in England for the time being.<br />

Real Madrid are still hopeful a deal can be wrapped up before the end of the summer, as they are planning to partner Cristiano Ronaldo alongside Bale in a new look attack.
