• The Anfield side have been monitoring the 29-year-old German since 2010 and are hopeful of landing their target this summer for a fee in the region of £15m. Reports suggest that the Reds would make a bid for the talented German forward if they elect to cash-on on their star striker Luiz Suarez, who is speculated to be closing in on a move to to Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Having already seen his strike partner Andre Schurrle make a move to the Premier League with Chelsea this summer, Kiessling could tempted by a switch to the English top tier having spent his entire playing career in his homeland Germany.
The talented forward ended last season at the top scorer in the Bundesliga helping his side to secure a Champions League berth, which could deter Liverpool’s chances of luring the German to Anfield.
Kiessling has so far notched up 98 goals for Bayer Leverkusen in all competitions
