Fernando Morientes scored twice as Valencia beat Real Mallorca 2-0 in the Spanish Primera Liga. Valencia hired Ronald Koeman during last week, and this victory was watched by Koeman who is still on the sidelines until next week.

    He ensured the win two minutes past the hour mark thanks to a David Silva pin-point pass.

    Caretaker coach Oscar Fernandez continued on the bench for Valencia, despite a disastrous 5-1 home defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday.



    New coach Ronald Koeman will start his mission with the Spanish giants with a UEFA Champions League game against Rosenborg in midweek.
