Cardiff City have wrapped up a deal to sign Steven Caulker from Tottenham on a four year contract. Caulker arrives in Wales looking to push for a place in England's national side ahead of the World Cup.
The 21-year-old has joined Cardiff for a fee believed to be in the region of around £8 million, smashing the previous transfer record paid for Andreas Cornelius at the beginning of the summer.
"First and foremost I want to say how happy I am to have signed with Cardiff City Football Club," he said. "I’m delighted to be here and excited for this fresh challenge.
"I thank Tottenham for everything they’ve done for me, having been there since I was a kid, but I’m here to back myself up now and show what I can do. This is a fresh start, a new chapter and I’m here to kick on."
