The Cottagers have already had their initial bid of&nbsp;&pound;4 million rejected by Villa but it is believed that Fulham's new offer of&nbsp;&pound;5 million might tempt Paul Lambert's side into selling him.<br />

Martin Jol have been in the look out this summer for a new striker to provide adequate support for Dimitar Berbatov and the 29 year old former Tottenham striker is believed to be his top target.<br />

Newcastle are also chasing Bent and the out of favor Villa forward is set to hold talks with Joe Kinnear this weekend. But with reports emerging of a possible deal for Bafetimbi Gomis having been concluded, the Magpies might drop their interest in Darren Bent.
