QPR Set Sights On Jermain Defoe

03 August 2013 - 08:23

QPR is eying a swoop for Tottenham’s star Jermain Defoe. It has been suggested by some media reports that Harry Redknapp is looking to lure the England striker to Loftus Road this summer to improve his team’s chances in the upcoming season.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Redknapp told in his interview that he is planning to revamp his squad with new additions that would “excite people”.

“I am going to put together a team that will excite people.

“I am trying to bring players in who will blow people’s minds. I have got the backing of the board to do that, and we are moving on from last season.”

However, it is not only Redknapp who is interested in the forward. It is believed that his predecessor at Loftus Road Mark Hughes has also set sights on the prolific scorer.

Defoe has been in tremendous form despite an injury struck second-half of last season. He netted 15 goals for Spurs last term. His present contract expires in two years but he will face stiff competiton from newly signed Roberto Soldado from Valencia. So he could be interested in yet another reunion with Redknapp.
