Turkish side Besiktas appear to have switched their attentions from signing Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor to Jermain Defoe. Both players are currently unsure about their long term future at White Hart Lane, with Spurs having already signed Roberto Soldado.

 • The Premier League side had accepted an offer of 8 million Euros from Besiktas for Adebayor which had been accepted by Andre Villas-Boas, but the player decided against making a move to Turkey.
Since Adebayor has decided to stay with Spurs, Besiktas have now made a similar offer of 9 million Euros for Jermain Defoe.
The England international is said to be happy to stay with Tottenham for the coming season and wants to fight for a place in England's side ahead of the World Cup next summer.
