The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that a deal to sign Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa is well and truly over.Liverpool had earlier made a bid of £21.8m for the Brazilian, before the player distanced himself from speculation of a move from the La Liga outfit.
However, Rodgers has revealed that a deal is unlikely to happen, before denying reports linking the Merseyside club with a move for Valencia's Aly Cissokho.
Rodgers said: "I believe Costa has signed an extension.
"There's nothing in terms of players to add.
"We've signed players early on and we hope to sign some more before the end of the window. In the meantime, there's nothing at the minute."
He added: "There's nothing on the Cissokho story."
