Ajax receive bid for Toby Alderweireld

Dutch side Ajax have received a bid for Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld, believed to be from Tottenham. The centre back is one of the hottest properties in Europe and valued at around 14 million Euros.

Alderweireld is yet another bright young talent off of the Belgian production line and has been compared to former Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen.<br />

“We have received an offer,” said Ajax's director of football Marc Overmars.<br />

“We won’t give any names as we are still in talks. But, just like with Norwich City earlier, I expect we can work out a deal with this club.”
