Real Madrid reject Manchester City's bid for Pepe

15 August 2013 - 07:04

Premier League side Manchester City have given up in their attempt to lure Real Madrid defender Pepe to the Etihad after the Los Blancos rejected their latest bid for the player.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Citizens had made a bid £20m for the Portuguese centre-back recently, but the Liga champions rejected the bid instantly as they opted to keep hold of the defender, according to the Daily Star.

Real Madrid want the Portuguese International to stay at the Bernabeu inorder to provide competition to fellow central defenders Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.

The Report suggests that City will now have to look to other options such as Liverpool's Daniel Agger and Atletico Madrid  Martin Demichelis.
