Swansea city thrashed Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti 5-1 in the Europa League playoff tie at the Liberty Stadium. A brace from the rejuvinated Wayne Routledge and Spaniard Michu in the first half ensured a 3-0 margin before the first whistle.
Petrolul goalkeeper put the ball in his own net after a Wilfried Bony shot took a deflection off him, and summer signing Pozuelo continued the rout for Michael Laudrup's side, before Grozav scored a late consolation for the visitors.<br />
Elsewhere, there were wins for Dynamo Kiev, Real Betis, Genk, Braga, and Trabzonspor while VFB Stuttgart were on the end of defeat by Rijeka, as were Italian side Udinese by Liberec.
