West Ham manager Sam Allardyce could be set to cure his current striker problem with a move for Icelandic international forward Alfreð Finnbogason. The Heerenveen forward scored 30 goals in 35 games last year for the Dutch side.
Finnbogason has waited patiently and quietly to see if any of Europe's biggest sides would make a transfer offer for him this summer and it is understood that Celtic have had a 6 million Euro bid rejected already. However, West Ham are ready to make a 7 million Euro bid to secure the Icelandic forward's signature.
Heerenveen are currently struggling with their finances and could be forced to sell their star striker this summer to balance the books. Heerenveen's manager Marco van Basten is desperate to keep hold of Finnobgason, but knows that the CEO will have to consider any offers for players.
This season the striker has already scored 6 goals in 4 games in the Eredivisie. Numerous teams are believed to have monitored the player in action, with Sunderland and Newcastle also believed to have made a visit to the Abe Lenstra Stadion to watch the talented 24-year-old in action.
