Smith seals Newcastle move

Smith seals Newcastle move

31 July 2007 - 15:56

Alan Smith has moved to Newcastle from Man Utd for an estimated £6m. The strikers future had been suspect to some speculation because of no guarantee of first team football.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • Alan Smith is keen to play for new Newcastle coach Sam Allardyce and Newcastle are continuing to reshuffle their back. Where this leaves fellow international striker Michael Owen is a question that needs to be answered, particularly after earlier Sam Allardyce rejected claims that Obafemi Martins is leaving the club. Newcastle have already signed Alan Smith's old team mate Mark Viduka this summer and the competition for striker starting places at St James' Park is heating up pre-season.
