Emiliano Viviano is reportedly set to have a medical with the Gunners, ahead of his proposed loan switch from Serie B outfit Palermo, as per Sky Italia.
The transfer agreement consists of a clause which can be activated to make the deal a permanent one should Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wish to do so.
According to Sky Italia, the North London outfit would acquire the signature of the 27-year-old goalkeeper on a season-long loan deal from Palermo for an undisclosed fee.
The Gunners boss has been put under immense pressure by the fans to bring in big signings this summer, having only signed Yaya Sanogo and Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer.
The signing of Viviano could be a stepping stone to Wenger's intentions of bringing in new faces before the end of the summer transfer window.
