Jens Lehmann: ' The Gunners paid too much for Ozil'

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has insisted that the Gunners had paid too much to sign Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.

  • German International Mesut Ozil signed for the North London outfit on transfer deadline day for a club record fee of £42.5m<br /><br />Lehmann told The Express: <em>"In all honesty, Arsenal paid too much for Mesut Ozil, but that's because Gareth Bale went to Real Madrid for so much more money.</em><br />

    <em> "Nobody is worth that much."</em><br /><br />Ozil's departure from the Bernabeu came as a shock to many of his former team-mates at Los Blancos, which included the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos.
