Malky Mackay hails "fantastic" Cardiff City win

29 September 2013 - 03:12

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has praised his players for their performance against Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Bluebirds sealed a 2-1 victory over Fulham at the Craven Cottage thanks to a goal from Jordan Mutch in injury time.

Malky told Sky Sports: "I thought we were fantastic today, from the first minute," he told Sky Sports News. "I think we ended up with 24 shots at their goal today. But they showed real resilience.

"We've had a tough week, we've had two long away trips this week but we kept going until the end. We put three substitutions on to go and try and win the game and one of them actually ended up scoring.

"So just reward in the end I think. It was a fantastic strike from him (Mutch). He's a top young player but overall I thought it was a really good performance."

Cardiff City are currently placed eleventh in the league table.
