Ricardo van Rhijn on Chelsea's shortlist

30 September 2013 - 08:23

Chelsea scouts have been monitoring the progress of Netherlands international Ricardo van Rhijn. The Blues are hoping to agree a deal for the 22-year-old centre back who is seen as a natural successor to John Terry.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • van Rhijn, who already has 7 caps for his country, burst onto the scene with Ajax back in 2011 and has since gone on to play regularly for his club. Numerous scouts have been to watch the player in action but as yet, no firm enquiries have been made for the starlet.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is looking to add some further quality to his squad in January and is focused on adding some defensive cover. Van Rhijn is valued by his club at around 7.5 million Euros.
