Liverpool target Lacina Traore free to leave Anzhi

04 October 2013 - 01:59

Cash strapped Russian club Anzhi are prepared to let their star striker Lacina Traore leave in the January transfer window. Tottenham and Liverpool are amongst the teams chasing the Ivory Coast international's coveted signature.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 6 foot 8 forward has impressed since his arrival at Anzhi in 2012, scoring 13 goals in 27 games for the Russian side. However, the 23-year-old's hefty 80,000 Euros per week salary appears to be a huge burden on the cash strapped Russian side and there is talk of an imminent transfer away for the player.

Liverpool are reportedly monitoring the striker and will consider a move for Traore but only if Uruguayan international Luis Suarez leaves Anfield. Elsewhere, Tottenham are also believed to be interested. Spurs have even considered offering out of favour Emmanuel Adebayor as part of a deal to bring Traore to Lodon.
