Roma chase £10m McGeady

Roma are reportedly weighing up a move for Celtic star Aiden McGeady. The player was so impressive in the Benfica game in the Champions League, that his performance sparked Celtic legend Joe Miller to comment that McGeady was worth £10m.

  • McGeady has been so impressive this year that former Celtic star Joe Miller has said: "We're now seeing a much more mature McGeady.

"The way he played against Benfica tells me he has grown from a boy into a man. It was world class and that's the standard he has set himself.

"It will be difficult to reach that level every week but he's capable of it and has to keep improving.

"People all over Europe will have watched the game and McGeady will be the name on their lips.

"That kind of display is up there with Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo. Few players in the world can produce the skill Aiden showed.

"He has an end product and the goals will come. For now though he is right just to focus on being a winger.

"He won't be in any rush to leave but that won't stop top clubs looking at him. Celtic wouldn't sell a talent like Aiden for a penny less than £10m - maybe even £14m."

Roma are known to be looking to bring in a few players in the January transfer window, and McGeady is very highly rated across Europe.
