Arsenal star Wilshere apologises for cigarette smoking

07 October 2013 - 15:36

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has apologised to the club's supporters after being photographed smoking a cigarette outside a night club. The Gunners' midfielder repaid Arsene Wenger's faith with an equalising goal against WBA on Sunday evening.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
 • Wilshere has been criticised by Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger for being caught smoking and the Gunners' boss has seemingly forgiven the 21-year-old central midfielder for the incident.
"Players make mistakes. I am not a smoker. I spoke with the boss and he asked me what happened, I explained to him and we sorted it out," said Wilshere.
"He put me in the team and hopefully I repaid him. I am not a smoker so I think that will be my last [cigarette]."
