Arsenal legend Bergkamp expects title challenge

19 October 2013 - 05:43

Arsenal club legend Dennis Bergkamp has praised the current crop of players at the Emirates, and told reporters that he expects the team to make a Premier League title challenge this year.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Bergkamp suggested that the current team at Arsenal has a similar squad to that of the ones the Dutchman was a part of, winning three titles over 8 years.

With the signing of Mathieu Flamini and Mesut Ozil, Arsenal have added the players that Bergkamp thinks will help Arsene Wenger lift a fourth Premier League title.

The 'Non-Flying Dutchman' said: "I see a lot of things similar to my time at Arsenal. I see a lot of movement in the team, a lot of commitment. They know what they want to do and they know how they want to go forward.

"They know what they want to do and what they need to do to go forward. It's enjoyable to watch but it's effective as well, which is good after something was missing these past few years. From this start, they have a chance."
