Arsenal and Man City set to battle it out for the signing of Robert Lewandowski

Arsenal and Manchester City will reportedly battle it out for the signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski during the January transfer window.

  • The talented Polish striker has recently dismissed claims suggesting that he had already joined Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, and he revealed of his willingness of playing in the Premier League.



    The Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal and Manchester are keen on the Polish International, and will try to outbid each other in order to acquire the player's services come the winter transfer window in January.



    Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is in search of a new striker who could accompany Olivier Giroud at the front, and is prepared to make a bid worth £25m on Lewandowski, despite the player's contract ending in the summer.



    On the other hand, Manchester City are looking to offer Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko in a a player plus cash deal, after the striker failed to cement his place in the starting line-up.



    Borussia Dortmund look likely to sell Lewandowski to an English club during the January transfer window rather than lose him on a free in the summer, as the club have maintained that they will not sell their star striker to rivals Bayern Munich.
