Arsenal's star midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly at the top of Barcelona's three-man wishlist as the La Liga giants begin the search for future recruitments in the central midfield role.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Barcelona have had the Spanish duo of Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta play the vital central midfield partnership in recent seasons, with Sergi Busquets providing the shield anchor role behind them.

With Xavi Hernandez approaching his 34th birthday, the Catalan side are now on the look out for a new central midfielder who could succeed the talented Spaniard, once he decides to hang up his boots.

According to Spanish daily sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Wilshere is considered the perfect player to fit in the scheme at the Camp Nou.

Alongside Jack Wilshere, Atletico Madrid's Koke and Borussia Dortmund's IIkay Gundogan are also being monitored by the Catalan giants.
