Carra: no regrets over England

Carra: no regrets over England

14 November 2007 - 20:47

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has insisted that he has no qualms after quitting international football. The defender would've been first choice for the central defence role as John Terry and Rio Ferdinand are missing out.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • "No, I've got no regrets," he told Liverpoolfc.tv. "I'm enjoying it very much. Obviously there's just four or five of us training and that's pretty enjoyable.”

Carragher who is just 29-years old decided to retire from the national squad giving lack of opportunities as the reason.

His other team mates joined their respective national squads earlier this week but the defender is reportedly enjoying himself at home with his family.

"I get a lot more time at home with the kids and Nicola, so that's great.

"Hopefully I'll be fresher than most of the lads by the time Newcastle comes around. The whole idea was to help my Liverpool form. Hopefully it's doing that."
