Man Utd to use Zaha as makeweight in Leighton Baines deal

Man Utd to use Zaha as makeweight in Leighton Baines deal

03 November 2013 - 04:30

A report this morning suggests that Manchester United could decide to use Wilfried Zaha as a part of a swap deal to sign Everton's left back Leighton Baines in the January transfer window.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Zaha has been told by his manager David Moyes that he is free to leave Old Trafford in January so that the player can play regular first team football. Manchester United have so far left Zaha on the substitutes bench in the league and the player is now considering his future elsewhere ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

There appears to be some talk of a swap deal involving both Zaha and Leighton Baines of Everton, as David Moyes continues his relentless pursuit of the England international left back. Man Utd were close to completing a deal for the defender back in August but the Toffees decided against a sale and kept hold of their star defender.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer Zaha plus £14m to sign Baines.
