Man Utd weigh up deal to sign left back Alex Sandro

28 November 2013 - 07:56

Porto's left back Alex Sandro is a possible transfer target for Manchester United and David Moyes. The Red Devils are already planning for life after current first choice left back Patrice Evra and have sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old Brazilian in action for his current club, Porto.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The left back is just one name on a reported list of five players that David Moyes is considering to sign as a long term replacement for Patrice Evra, and it appears that United are becoming more and more frustrated with Everton as United continue their relentless pursuit of Leighton Baines. The Toffees are refusing to sell the left back to Man Utd and David Moyes is now proactively scouting other players instead.

Sandro, who has spent two years playing in Portugal after completing spells playing for Atletico Paranaense and Santos in his homeland, has played six times for his country and will certainly be amongst the players hoping to play some part in the World Cup next summer. Sandro arrived at Porto for a fee of 9.6million Euros and the Portuguese club have doubled his valuation and are reportedly seeking at least 20 million Euros from a sale. There also remains a 26 million Euro release clause in the player's contract.
