Serie A giants Inter Milan are preparing a bid for Manchester City centre-back Matija Nastasic during the New Year, as the Nerazzurri manager Walter Mazzarri is keen on strengthening the squad with the big transfer budget provided by the new Indonesian owner Thohir.
The 20-year-old Serbian international is highly-rated by the Citizens but has been inconsistent in many games this season, and this may tempt the City manager Manuel Pellegrini to add a new centre-back in January.
Reports in Italy suggest that the Italian giants Inter Milan will look to pounce on the opportunity and sign the Serbian International, who looks likely to fall down the pecking order at the Etihad, should a new centre-back arrive at the club.
Inter Milan have also been linked with a move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko after Pellegrini hinted that the player could leave the Manchester side in the near future.
