Agbonlahor to Arsenal?

Agbonlahor to Arsenal?

17 November 2007 - 12:32

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has been linked with a January transfer move to Premiership rivals Arsenal. Gabby has enjoyed a brilliant start to the season with Villa this year under Martin O'Neill, however Arsene Wenger is reportedly looking to bring in one more striker to his squad.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • 21 year old Agbonlahor is half Nigerian and half Scottish but happily choose England and is a regular striker in Stuart Pearce's under 21 squad. He first came to the attention of Aston Villa scouts whilst playing for local Birmingham side Great Barr Falcons, where his quick pace brought him success as a young teenager.

He has since become one of the mainstays of Aston Villa's team playing almost every game this year.

If Arsene Wenger makes a move for the Villa hitman it is expected to cost almost £15m to prize away their best talent.

The Birmingham side are believed to be keen to hang on to Agbonlahor, so any move for the player may be initially rebuffed.
