Man Utd deny reports of Robin Van Persie transfer request

08 December 2013 - 08:47

Manchester United have denied reports that Robin van Persie has requested a transfer away from Old Trafford in the January transfer window. The Dutch international had reportedly handed in a written request after being rumoured to have fallen out with the club's manager, David Moyes.

  • Mark Lawrenson had told reporters that he had heard reports that Robin van Persie had handed in a transfer request, however Man Utd were quick to respond, with the club's manager Moyes telling reporters after the 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle: "That is absolute nonsense.

"I don’t know what harder or tougher word I could say but that’s as good as I’ve got."

United have slumped to two home defeats in a row, leaving David Moyes concerned for his own future as the club's manager and van Persie reportedly very unhappy at the club's performances so far this year.
