Arsenal manager reveals interest in Olympiakos star

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is keep tracking the progress of Olympiakos' Greek star Konstantinos Mitroglou, according to the Daily Star.

  • The 25-year-old striker has been in excellent form for his club this season, having amassed 14 goals in just 10 league games and has been linked with a switch to England top tier during the New Year, with Arsenal and Liverpool keeping tabs on the player's situation at the Greek outfit.



    The Gunners boss intimated his interest on the talented forward, and could bring the player to the Emirates during the winter transfer window.



    When asked on his interest on Mitroglou, Wenger quipped: "He is a true finisher but he must try to evolve to a higher level.



    "In any case, all the major European clubs will certainly be alert. We cannot neglect him."



    Arsenal are on the search for a new striker in January in order to provide competition to French International Olivier Giroud up front and could buy the talented striker on a bargain when the transfer window reopens.


    According to various reports, Liverpool had made a bid for the player last season but failed in their efforts to lure the striker to England.
